Hi I'm a 40 something:woohoo: female suffering from receding gums and gingivitis. I go to the dentist 3 times a year for cleanings because of coffee & tea staining. I have a full mouth of 'silver' fillings. Would chlorophyll help with this? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Brushing twice daily with a soft brush is recommended, hard brushes actually erode the gums and do more damage, to both teeth and gums. Remember it is the brushing that does the work more than the tooth paste. Use a waterpik with a cap of peroxide and teaspoon of baking soda in the water. While they both help clean and kill the germs and microbes, the baking soda will aid in creating an environment less likely for them to multiple. Be sure to rinse the waterpik after each use. Don't be alarmed if you get some blood during use, this will also aid in healing. Also increase your vitamin C intake. After you heal you won't need to use the waterpik as often. Hope this helps.

Thanks Kathleen. I just ordered a waterpik and will try your suggestions. I am sure hopeful......I've tried every paste, rinse, proxybrush, floss etc.......I'm losing bone now and getting worried. I have a clean diet and my teeth are starting to turn grey from poor oral health. I brush 2 times a day & floss every night. I take B, C & D vitamins. Not sure what else to try! I will gladly try the waterpik in hopes that it helps. Thank you for responding!

Hi Darlene, You may be sensitive to the " silver" fillings, as they contain 50% mercury! 75% of the American population are not aware of this. Although most people seem to tolerate these fillings, many of us are not able to. Please visit the International Academy of Oral and Medical Toxicology at www.iaomt.org . If you decide to have these fillings replaced go to a specialist who has been trained by these people.
