The Blue Jay has stayed in the area.
I was thinking about the Blue Jay earlier. I miss him since we let him go, although I know that I did the right thing. He still flies around in the area, but is not tame anymore. He allows us to get a lot closer to him than any other bird; but he certainly wont let me get close enough to pick him up. I see him flying around though, and I'm sure that he steals any sunflower seeds that I put out in the yard, along with the rest of the birds.

Me and the blue jay used to be really close, back when I was feeding it cat food mixed with water, and he started chirping ever hour (they have a very fast metabolism). It was really sweet really, with it's mouth wide open, trying to tell me that he wanted food. I didn't enjoy it when I had to let him go, but birds like that belong in the wild where they can be free. Really, I am glad that he is free so that he can be happy and live a full life, but there is a part of me who wishes that I kept him as a pet.

If you weren't a reader during the time that I found the Blue Jay and took it in then you can read about how we first found him here.

Freedom Again

This is what my Blue Jay looks like, but I don't have pictures of it yet.

Our Blue Jay that I rescued as a fledgling is now ready to be set free. It is doing really well right now and I really hope that it sticks around in the area. I never would have imagined that it would be so tame and happy around us. In some ways I would just like to hold onto it and keep it in the house, where I know for sure that it is safe, but that wouldn't be fair.

Over the next few days I'll put out some seeds and see what happens. I really hope that it will be okay. It looks beautiful when it flies and I think it will make it around here, as there are other Blue Jay's around here that are doing just fine, and keep stealing the sunflower seeds that I put down.

Karate Practice and Old Contacts.
The bird is still doing great, and is developing a lot of its' blue feathers now. It looks lovely. Anyway, I need to get back working on the Book; even though I have done a lot, I need to do more, and I keep being tempted to put it off. I feel slightly dazed today, I think my body is adjusting to the foods that I have been eating recently, which are significantly healthier than before. I have been practicing Karate a lot more often since I am not having the same problems with sickness as I was before.

In the last few days I have found that I am getting on significantly well with people from back in England that I had never been very close to. This is a strange but good feeling, as I know that people now generally understand the truth about why I left home.

Image of Blue Jay.
Here is a picture of what our Blue Jay looks like.

Tonight we ate a meal which is the healthiest that we have had for a long time; and it was really good. Don't get me wrong, we eat a lot healthier than most households as far as the avoidance of artificial sweeteners, colors and GM (genetically modified) products. But still, we rarely have the 5 portions of veg ever day that we should to sustain a healthy body.

Now tonight, we ate ground turkey, that we spiced, along with lettuce and salsa inside nacho crackers. They were really good, left you full at the end and resulted in feeling good for the rest of the night unlike most meals where you feel fatiqued, bloated and sometimes sick.

Baby Blue Jay
We rescued a baby blue jay 2 nights ago. We were out practicing Karate when we heard something fall from the tree's. We went over and saw the baby bird laying motionless on the ground; at first we assumed that it was dead, till we noticed that it was breathing heavily and occasionally blinked.

We didn't know if it was hurt or not so we put a towel in a cardboard box and placed the bird inside it. I took it in the house and tried to feed it, but it refused to eat that night. Early the next morning, we managed to feed it some very wet meaty cat food, which went down great. We found that the cats had left its brother/sister in bits on the porch, leaving us glad that we had rescued this one. We did research to find that it is a blue jay, and knew that it was not yet ready for seeds. We will take care of it until it is ready to be released into the wild again.

Our Bunny Died.
Last night our Black Bunny past away from an unknown cause. At lunch it seemed fine but at around 7:30pm it was gone. Before this it could not walk, and seemed to lose control of half of its' body, as if from a stroke. It would not eat or drink, and seemed very unresponsive; except for showing small signs of hope at various points throughout.

At the end of its' life it made a strange noise as it strained to breathe. It appeared to be in pain, but there was nothing that we could do but try to comfort it. Last night our remaining Bunny (thumper) seemed to be experiencing loneliness and so we left this morning to return with another Bunny.

Getting Back on the Book.
I did not really get to the Book at all yesterday despite my intensions. I took care of my plants, and we went out shopping late which was at a time when I usually get into the Zone and get to work. I think a lot of it is simply self-discipline and I need to just do it rather than putting it off in the way that I have recently. Although, last night I really wasn't in the right frame of mind anyhow. I have stomach pains at the moment which really sucks so I am taking regular pills throughout the day.

Again I intend to get on the Book some today. I will be posting some pictures on here soon of the hamster and rabbits, etc, as I believe I promised some of those a while ago.

We visited twice
Over the past two days we have been visiting the zoo, which is about an hour away in driving distance. Initially, we went on Monday at around 1pm, and felt somewhat rushed, although we managed to see most of the animals throughout the day. Due to our late arrival we were given a free entry the next day too.

Consequently, on Tuesday we visited the Zoo for the second time. Half way on the journey to the Zoo, I took over driving, whilst adhering to Thomas' driving instructions. I drove again the whole way back, we had once near-accident but overall it wasn't too bad! Upon arrival, we went to see the Black bears which we had missed previously and re-visited the bobcats, which were very cute and looked very similar to Lynx. They re-instated my long desire to keep a lynx as a pet. Having spoken about this dream a lot recently with my family, we have discussed the possibility of having a canadian or siberian Lynx when our book is complete.

Busy on our Break.
Well, thankfully we haven't been bothered by my father and his recent girlfriend for quite a while, which of is a nice break. Although they cause no damage, their comments were becoming annoying a few months ago with their posts of hatred and willingness to try to destroy me. Nevertheless, our home life remained unaffected and stable; much to their dissapointment.

In other area's, we mowed the yard today and I noticed that lots of my plants are doing well now that the temperatures are rising and my apple tree's development is great. Also, we got a shock collar for Stephanie (the dog) in order to train her to stay in the yard, off of a leash. This has been very difficult until now as she is very defiant by nature and a large dog which the neighbors would complain about if she ran towards their yards.

There was a storm a few days ago and so there were lots of twigs on the lawn to be picked up before mowing (we are surrounded by trees). That is obviously a boring job. I haven't worked on the Book at all today which I feel badly about, but I shouldn't as we have all taken a break. I knew that I needed one but I still feel like I need to get to work.

Humid and we have a Retarded dog.
I haven't been feeling too well today, I feel like it is very humid for some reason and I can barely breathe. Other than that it has been good, we had hickory smoked Chicken and I spent extra time with the dog.

I generally avoid spending large amounts of time with her as she seems to be very retarded generally and so it just spoils it when she chokes herself with the leash. I'm not exaggerating. Today the sun was out and it was warm but not too hot so I took her for a walk and sat with for a little while. She is, however, banned from being in the house as she is incredibly defient and so we gave up trying to train her. She is happy outside anyhow.

Abusive Illnesses, The Birds and Hamster.
I notice that we haven't had any comments about the hamster yet, not that I blame you all; I guess there is nothing you can say. Our bird eggs were unsuccesful but the birds seem to be happily trying again without too much upset.

Our book appendix work seems to be coming together. After searching through different mental disorders that commonly apply to abusers and victims, we found that in several ways, they all tie together. We're still working on it.

Strike Survived Chlorine Gas.
Our hamster escaped a few days ago when we left him running in his ball overnight. Although I usually put tape over the the ball which comes loose, this time, I didn't. When I awoke the next morning he was missing, and we looked everywhere but without success. Taking into consideration that he was small, we looked in small spaces that he could have crawled into but still there was no sign of him. We put some hamster food in the middle of the floor, hoping that he would come out and we could catch him when he went to eat.

I went to the kitchen to prepare a sandwich when I felt fur alongside my foot. I looked down and he ran straight back up under the cabinet to where a small hole was present, to the inside of the cabinets, out of reach. We used a flashlight to search for Strike but could not see him. Before long we heard a scratching noise and became worried that he may be digging a hole through the cabinet.

We used some organic animal repellant to wet some paper towels and put the rags in there, hoping to drive him out. He went quiet but still would not come out, so we added loud music by putting a radio in the cabinet. There was no sign of him except for the occasional scratching noises. We decided that the survival of our cabinets was more important that the survival of Strike. So, next we decided to make Chlorine gas, mixing ammonia with bleach and putting a bowl of it in the cuboard. He would either come out or die.

Hours later he had still not returned, so we realized that he would most probably be dead. We removed the music and the Chlorine gas which would have either seriously damaged his lungs or killed him. Just in case he was still alive we left some sticky-side-up duct tape just under his hole, surrounding his food so that he would be trapped if he did come out. At around 2 in the morning I woke up for some reason and went to the kitchen to get a drink of water. There he was. Calling for the rest of the family to help, we slowly released the panicked Strike, who turned out to be fine. He had survived it all.

No Sign of Chicks, yet the Book is underway.
We don't seem to be having much success with these eggs, as they have not hatched yet, but one is significantly larger than the other (the one that hatched first I assume). Yet they are no longer incubating the eggs sowe are fairly worried but we'll just have to wait for the outcome.

I haven't talked about the Book for a little while, but we are still working daily on it and it is being completed quickly.. we are progressing. I feel slightly nauseous tonight for some reason but I am not sure why, it is possible that I have eaten something which had ingredients filled with artificial chemicals. I don't react well at all to lots of chemicals -- including those that are regularly put in food.
