Karate Practice and Old Contacts.
The bird is still doing great, and is developing a lot of its' blue feathers now. It looks lovely. Anyway, I need to get back working on the Book; even though I have done a lot, I need to do more, and I keep being tempted to put it off. I feel slightly dazed today, I think my body is adjusting to the foods that I have been eating recently, which are significantly healthier than before. I have been practicing Karate a lot more often since I am not having the same problems with sickness as I was before.

In the last few days I have found that I am getting on significantly well with people from back in England that I had never been very close to. This is a strange but good feeling, as I know that people now generally understand the truth about why I left home.

Image of Blue Jay.
Here is a picture of what our Blue Jay looks like.

Tonight we ate a meal which is the healthiest that we have had for a long time; and it was really good. Don't get me wrong, we eat a lot healthier than most households as far as the avoidance of artificial sweeteners, colors and GM (genetically modified) products. But still, we rarely have the 5 portions of veg ever day that we should to sustain a healthy body.

Now tonight, we ate ground turkey, that we spiced, along with lettuce and salsa inside nacho crackers. They were really good, left you full at the end and resulted in feeling good for the rest of the night unlike most meals where you feel fatiqued, bloated and sometimes sick.

Busy
Hey There,

We have much to do today yet time seems to be continuing whilst we fail to accomplish much. The Baby Blue Jay is growing quickly and developing it's colors, whilst being fed ever hour. It seems to be really trusting of us now, unlike when we first picked it up from the middle of the yard where the cats and dog were watching.

I have challenged myself to making some peanut butter fudge today and I'll attempt it later. More to be added to this post later today.

Baby Blue Jay
We rescued a baby blue jay 2 nights ago. We were out practicing Karate when we heard something fall from the tree's. We went over and saw the baby bird laying motionless on the ground; at first we assumed that it was dead, till we noticed that it was breathing heavily and occasionally blinked.

We didn't know if it was hurt or not so we put a towel in a cardboard box and placed the bird inside it. I took it in the house and tried to feed it, but it refused to eat that night. Early the next morning, we managed to feed it some very wet meaty cat food, which went down great. We found that the cats had left its brother/sister in bits on the porch, leaving us glad that we had rescued this one. We did research to find that it is a blue jay, and knew that it was not yet ready for seeds. We will take care of it until it is ready to be released into the wild again.

Drought
It hasn't rained here in around a month, and the temperature seems to have settled at around 90 degrees Fahrenheit; which, coming from England, is a huge change. Really, I now find myself with a desire for rain, whereas in the past I have always complained about too much of it. It seems no matter where I go I cannot seem to get sun and rain in equal moderation. I am told that it is to get much hotter in the next couple of months, and that is a shame as my plants really could do with the minerals of rain water.

Although I water them daily (and sometimes several times a day), I know that there is no substitute for rain, and without they do not grow as fast or as strong. Despite this it does not seem like we have any rain due anytime soon.

While I am talking about the weather, it is often said that the sun will give you skin cancer. Now, although I can understand how laying in direct sunlight for several hours a day, every day may be harmful to your health; recent studies have indicated that sunlight does not cause skin cancer, sunblock does. Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide are common active ingredients in sunblock, yet both of these are known in many countries to be carcinogenic; when inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Please look around this summer before you put damaging chemicals on yours, or your childs' skin.

There are other options, including some organic sunblocks (read the ingredients, don't trust what it says on the front of the package) or just wear light clothes that cover the skin but don't make you too hot.

Activity - The cure to sickness.
I'm doing a lot better now since taking herbal medication to speed up the healing process and boost the immune system. Our two rabbits seem to have finally bonded well after some initial quarreling over dominance, they now groom each other happily.

We have been practicing Karate daily recently, and I believe that it is helping my overall health (activity is well-known for helping sickness), and I feel much happier during the daytime, along with much more confident. I think that overall there are numerous ways in which this can and will be of benefit. I may add some more pictures of us practicing soon.

Echinacea
I have not been feeling well at all today, constantly tired and feeling zoned-out. I took an 'Echinacea' tablet which should help to boost my immune system if I am getting sick. It's strange when you can look at a herbal pill container and not see millions of scary side affects printed on the side.

Our Bunny Died.
Last night our Black Bunny past away from an unknown cause. At lunch it seemed fine but at around 7:30pm it was gone. Before this it could not walk, and seemed to lose control of half of its' body, as if from a stroke. It would not eat or drink, and seemed very unresponsive; except for showing small signs of hope at various points throughout.

At the end of its' life it made a strange noise as it strained to breathe. It appeared to be in pain, but there was nothing that we could do but try to comfort it. Last night our remaining Bunny (thumper) seemed to be experiencing loneliness and so we left this morning to return with another Bunny.

Domestic Violence and Learning to Drive
Hey,

I just thought that I'd leave a posting to let you know that I am fine and we haven't been doing much over the last few days. I drove again today, on the wrong(right) side of the road, it is strange to drive on the right when I am used to the left with lots of roundabouts.

On Saturday I am going to do a display with the local Domestic Violence group, which will be okay. I don't find that particularly thrilling, but I am with people that I know, so I'm sure it will be fine. It will last 3 hours. Early in June, me and Andrea are going to walk for victims of Domestic Violence, along with others in the area. We have been trying to get businesses to sponsor us -- it will be fun I imagine.

Getting Back on the Book.
I did not really get to the Book at all yesterday despite my intensions. I took care of my plants, and we went out shopping late which was at a time when I usually get into the Zone and get to work. I think a lot of it is simply self-discipline and I need to just do it rather than putting it off in the way that I have recently. Although, last night I really wasn't in the right frame of mind anyhow. I have stomach pains at the moment which really sucks so I am taking regular pills throughout the day.

Again I intend to get on the Book some today. I will be posting some pictures on here soon of the hamster and rabbits, etc, as I believe I promised some of those a while ago.

New Herbal Seeds Arrived
We ordered some new seeds from the internet yesterday as there are some medicinal herbs that we can't find for sale in supermarkets or DIY stores. The only reason for no sale is no demand... the average person who goes to a gardening area looks for plants with a nice smell or appearance, yet they are not our priorities. We are looking for herbs that will help when we get sick or when people we know are sick. Most people are too ignorant or simply don't have the time to 'worry' about this.

I feel like getting something done today, though I am not sure exactly what to do. I have a lot of energy today. I feel alive. I have done a lot of cleaning simply because it puts me in a positive frame of mind, now I am ready to succeed at something but unfortunately it is raining outside which significantly limits my options.

Herbs and Vegetables.
Recently I have been having a great deal of success with herbs, which have been newly planted. Although, time is running out to plant new seeds, which will not germinate properly in too much heat (the temperature at the moment is around 80F). Today I have been planting some more vegetables including hot and mild peppers, tomato's, Recently I have been having a great deal of success with herbs, which have been newly planted. Although, time is running out to plant new seeds, which will not germinate properly in too much heat (the temperature at the moment is around 80F)carrots and lettuce. Whilst trying to plant these I have had a growing problem with poison Oak and ivy growing in the yard, which I obviously cannot remove by hand and need to use weed killer. Not that this is usually a problem, but I cannot plant new seeds until 2 weeks after the weed killer is originally sprayed.

My lavender is growing well, along with my apple tree. The only problem with my Granny Smith apple tree, is that is seems to be wilting a lot, and I am not sure why. Possibly it is being over-watered, or perhaps it is still in shock from it's transition. Any advise about this would be appreciated.

We visited twice
Over the past two days we have been visiting the zoo, which is about an hour away in driving distance. Initially, we went on Monday at around 1pm, and felt somewhat rushed, although we managed to see most of the animals throughout the day. Due to our late arrival we were given a free entry the next day too.

Consequently, on Tuesday we visited the Zoo for the second time. Half way on the journey to the Zoo, I took over driving, whilst adhering to Thomas' driving instructions. I drove again the whole way back, we had once near-accident but overall it wasn't too bad! Upon arrival, we went to see the Black bears which we had missed previously and re-visited the bobcats, which were very cute and looked very similar to Lynx. They re-instated my long desire to keep a lynx as a pet. Having spoken about this dream a lot recently with my family, we have discussed the possibility of having a canadian or siberian Lynx when our book is complete.

Zoo
I have worked on Categories:Poisonous Containers some today but not as much as I would have hoped. In the morning we plan to go to the Zoo but it does depend on a few variables as the car is not quite ready yet. Thomas did an oil change today on his car but the dipstick (used for measuring the amount of oil) snapped and we feel uncomfortable travelling until we get another. We hope to get up early so that we could get going and buy a new dipstick as soon as the store opens. That way we have the whole day free.

Tired
I feel tired and droggy today. I believe my immune system is fighting something off, but at the same time my body clock is out as I work best at night. Although this is the case it is not best for the body so I need to get my body clock re-assigned to sleep when it's dark.

I have done some more work on 'hazardous drinking water'. I think I will probably leave it alone for a little while now and perhaps add another section on health sometime soon. Leave any comments about that page on any of the general posts, thanks.
