DCA is called dichloroacetic acid, dichloroacetate, and dichloroethanoic acid by chemists. It is essentially chlorine that is mixed with oxygen and acetic acid. This poisonous chlorine compound has been found in the tap water of some municipalities, which is something that even the World Health Organization has expressed alarm about. This toxic contamination occurs because bleaching agents are used to disinfect our drinking water. Oxygen would disinfect water better (e.g. hydrogen peroxide), and it would actually produce health benefits.
Effects of DCA Exposure
DCA does suppress some cancers, but it requires even more toxicity than is required to cause cancer. The amount necessary for it to have any effectiveness can kill a person, or lead to debilitating conditions. Proponents of DCA claim that it works by "turning on" the mitochondria, a crucial part of the DNA that regulates oxygen and cellular growth. However, dichloroacetic acid has been known to cripple the mitochondria since the 1950's -- not assist it.
Judging from the effects of DCA on human health, it would appear that it works in the same manner as orthodox cancer treatments. It attacks the entire body, resulting in horrendous damage. It weakens all of the cells and the immune system. Mutated cancer cells are less resilient than healthy, respiration-using cells; so cancer cells are expected to die first when exposed to such poisons. Thus, the tumors may disappear, but it is important to remember that tumors are merely a symptom of cancer, which itself is merely a symptom of acidosis combined with toxicity, and possibly radiation damage. DCA actually stimulates the root causes of cancer: acidosis and toxicity. This leaves the patient with the same dismal chance of surviving cancer as if he had experienced standard therapies.
The parallels between this "alternative" and the mainstream are difficult to miss. This methodology of poisoning the whole body is identical to that of orthodox medicine, and it is why the long-term cure rates are so low. The methodology of attacking a body into good health will be described as insanity by future generations, and rightly so. It will be mocked alongside other former 'miracles' of orthodox medicine, such as blood letting.
The trend of killing by medicine follows historical precedent. For example, while orthodox doctors of the not-so-distant past were using blood letting to kill people such as George Washington, natural physicians were prescribing herbal compounds, such as white willow bark extract that contained the active ingredient of aspirin. Eventually, the establishment discovered aspirin too.
When people read about alternative treatments, they generally assume that they are natural and safer. In the majority of cases, these assumptions are well founded. It is prudent to be watchful for alternatives which are actually dangerous pharmaceutical imitators. DCA is officially a part of orthodox medicine, but it has not yet become popular. Doctors provide it off-label, which is never the case for effective, natural, and safe alternative treatments. Allopathic doctors can be disbarred from practicing medicine if they recommend the Budwig protocol, Gerson therapy, Hoxsey therapy, vitamin B-17, or mega-doses of vitamin C, as utilized by Linus Pauling. Yet they routinely prescribe dangerous and less effective chemicals, such as DCA, with no professional repercussions.
We were unable to find any dichloroacetate that is manufactured in the United States of America. The majority of DCA is produced in China. Therefore, it is likely to contain lead, cadmium and worse.
There are safer, more effective, and natural ways to cure cancer and eliminate arthritis pain. There are proven methods that yield life-long cures: not just intermittent "remissions". Real medicine is cheap, painless, and without risk. It is not medicine if it kills people. Fortunately, DCA does not have the same popularity as its weaker cousin M.M.S. However, if DCA becomes popular, not only will more people be harmed and killed by this treatment, but alternative medicine will be wrongfully blamed for their deaths. We, as a community, have a responsibility to both ourselves and the prospective victims of DCA, to detach all associations between alternative medicine and it.
