Our Secret Weapon: The Green Drink

This turbo-charged drink seems to do miraculous things within 8 to 12 hours, including improving eyesight, and the results can last for days. People with fast metabolisms may feel the results within a couple of hours.

  • 4 carrots
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1 box of baby spinach (5 oz.)
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 2 Granny Smith apples (4 if not organic)
  • 1 cup of pineapple juice
  • Water (to thin)

It is strongly recommended that organic fruits and vegetables be used to make this drink, for organic really does make a tremendous difference in improved taste and potency. It is an acquired taste, which is difficult to describe. However, the taste is far from bad, and the effects of this drink make it so worth acquiring its taste. This drink is so nutritious, in the extreme, that it has been known to suppress hunger for as much as 24 hours. Having a large glass of this stuff every 2-3 days keeps us healthy, energized, and feeling great. Armor yourself with this drink during the flu season, and we promise that you will have no regrets.

A juicer is required to properly extract this drink. Before being placed in the juicer, the vegetables are blended on a liquefy setting with water inside a blender. After that, all the ingredients can be poured into the juicer for finishing. The drink is technically healthier when the juicer part is skipped, so that it retains all of its fibrous pulp. It is a matter of weighing all the taste and nutritional considerations. Everyone finds the drink tastier when it has been thoroughly chilled.

If the drink tastes terrible, then it probably indicates that your body is acidic. Try decreasing simple carbohydrates, processed foods, sweets, red meats, and drinking only pure pineapple juice for about 12 hours, and then taste it again. You could easily find yourself shocked at the difference in taste. If this test works on you, then you should begin learning about how to adjust your acidic body pH, before serious health problems occur.

Some people cannot drink this formulation, due to an aversion to the taste of celery. It is okay to remove it; but of course, the benefits of this secret weapon will be lessened.

Please note that if you make it organic, then you will only have about 48 hours to consume it before it starts becoming rotten. Keep it refrigerated during that time, or drink it immediately. You should label its creation date, and religiously trash it after 2 days. If you dare drink this stuff three or more days after its creation, then it is going to really ruin your day. This is because bacteria finds this drink to be just as nutritious and stimulating. You should immediately clean the juicer and blender too, in order to avoid mold and fungus.

Do not store the green drink in an air-tight container, because if it is not able to release its gasses, then it will become putrid rapidly.

    This drink is easy to make and tastes nice.

    For UK readers - 5oz is 140grams, and 1 Cup (an American measurement) equates to about 220-240ml.

    I blended the greens with a tiny amount of water (to get the blades to 'catch' the greens and blend them properly). I did not blend the carrots or apples. Instead I juiced these and also poured in the blended greens. I then added pineapple juice.

    To be honest I was a little disappointed. With the adage 'no pain no gain' I was expecting this to taste revolting and therefore confirm it was doing me good (if you know what I mean).

    My diet and the way I live my life is by no means healthy, although not terrible either - middle of the road. So I was expecting the drink to taste a little off as suggested in the instructions.

    I think when I try it again Ill actually leave out the pineapple juice (drink it later) as it actually made the drink quite sweet. In fact this drink really didn't taste any different to a standard carrot and apple juiced drink, albeit with a slightly sweeter pineapple taste. Maybe chilling it would have reduced the sweetness.

    The quantities suggested (w 2 apples) made about 500ml/just under half a pint) and was enough for 2 people. And it was filling. I'll certainly be having it again.

    Made this drink last night our family loved it for the most part. We will definitely be making this a part of our health plan for life. We used our Vita-Mix to juice everything together since we don't have a juicer and don't mind the added pulp.

    Is it ok to consume apple seeds (organic of course)? Some people say you should never eat them and some people say it's best to. I'd like to know your thoughts on this since we don't use a juicer first as in the directions but add the organic apples straight into our blender.

    We also used 5 oz. organic fresh spinach (not baby spinach), since i wasn't too sure what they used to pre-rinse the boxed spinach.

    The Green Drink was tasty and it made 64 oz. of good stuff! Thank you!

    To me the seeds are the most tasty part of an apple!

    Once I learned to eat an apple properly, all I leave is the stem of one. The key is not to eat around the core, but eat the apple from the bottom up. This way you bite square through the core and get to te seeds without a problem. And the core gets cut in easy digestible pieces.

    Bariatric surgery is nothing short of butchery, and it makes getting adequate nutrition difficult. The green drink will no doubt be very helpful in making sure that you get enough nutrition, despite the surgery.

    Anyway, use the whole stalk of celery, but cut about an inch off both ends and throw them away.

    I got all the ingredients last night, and was so excited to make it this morning that I forgot I no longer have a blender. I threw everything in the juicer and hoped for the best.

    It came out looking just like the picture, tasted delicious, and did not need any straining, or any water to thin it out. As a previous poster noted, I was a little worried that it couldn't possibly be all that healthy since it tasted so good!!

    Is there a nutritional benefit to blending the ingredients first? If so, I'll go buy a new blender :cheer:

    We have an entire report on diabetes. Read it. You can use the search at the top right of every page. We've done everything except hold your hand, so now it's your job to read.

    We have the most difficult time helping diabetics, because if they really cared anything about their health, then they would not be in that mess in the first place. It is why they like to fight us concerning curing it, as I notice you did in your other "genetic" post.

    Either take some responsibility or stop wasting our time.

    Thanks for this recipe; I really like it and it definitely reduces my cravings and seems to give me more energy. I'm having a lot of gas, bloating, as well as some stomach cramps. I think I have trouble digesting the fructose and polyols that they contain -- I know I've had trouble with apples, which contain both, in the past.

    My question is what nutrients are we trying to get from the apple and the celery? I thought maybe I could substitute something else.

    From my research, it looks like apples are high in potassium, Vit C, and fiber, and celery is high in everything. Would you agree or am I missing something? Maybe substitute an orange and just use less celery? I would appreciate any suggestions.
