Quick Tip: Cure Ulcers Naturally With Raw Cabbage Juice

Over the years, the medical establishment has repeatedly changed its list of suspected causes for stomach ulcers (peptic ulcers). It has been like a soap opera to monitor. At various times, ulcers have been blamed on stress, excessive alcohol consumption, extended use of pharmaceuticals, a weakened immune system, bacterial infections, and of course, it is now genetic too. They really have no idea. Ulcers continue to be a great enigma that is beyond the bounds of modern doctors.

They are a surprisingly common condition. Most people know of at least one person who has suffered with ulcers, who was placed on the usual pharmaceutical treadmill. The prognosis of pharmaceutical treatments is bleak. Some argue that doing something for a suffering victim is always preferable to doing nothing, because at least the doctors are trying to help. It is tempting logic, so long as the assumption is maintained that there are no known alternatives to the current protocols of experimental medicine. With that in mind, consider the following carefully.

While researching for an unrelated topic, we came across an enlightening study from 1949. It included:

"The average crater healing time for seven of these patients who had duodenal ulcer was only 10.4 days, while the average time as reported in the literature, in 62 patients treated by standard therapy, was 37 days... The average crater healing time for six patients with gastric ulcer treated with cabbage juice was only 7.3 days, compared with 42 days, as reported in the literature, for six patients treated by standard therapy."

The study, entitled "Rapid Healing of Peptic Ulcers in Patients Receiving Fresh Cabbage Juice" was simply ignored by the medical establishment. Two more studies were later done in 1952 and 1956, with identical outcomes.

For those doing their own research, the ulcer-healing factor of cabbage (S-methylmethionine) is often referred to as "vitamin U". What is astounding is that this natural therapy has been known for over six decades, yet the public has never been told about it. The initial study used a quart of raw, cabbage juice that was consumed throughout each day. Based upon the results of the studies, we would recommend a protocol lasting 10-13 days.

It is well known throughout alternative medicine and amongst naturopathic doctors that ulcers are caused by an imbalance of the stomach pH. Therefore, we recommend alkalizing the body, because virtually all modern pH issues consist of a body being too acidic, and a stomach that is too alkaline. Following an alkalizing diet should eventually help one to regain a natural balance. See the Body pH and Disease article for detailed information about this. Severe indigestion is sometimes confused for ulcerations, and this can sometimes be corrected in the same manner.

    How would one juice cabbage?? A vita mixer??
    So one would only consume only raw cabbage juice??

    Ulcers are usually identified by abdominal pain, but this can be accompanied by vomiting red or black blood, blood in the stool, unexplained weight loss and appetite changes.

    In the study, the researchers used a juice press to obtain the cabbage juice. Reference Google images for a better idea, however, the importance should be placed on the consumption of cabbage juice, rather than how it is prepared. You may need to do some experimenting with a blender and a small amount of water, and see how it goes.

    I can't imagine any benefit from colloidal silver in this situation, unless the ulcers are caused by an infection.

    Even eating raw cabbage with every meal will help if you don't have a juicer.

    And you can buy sauerkraut juice. It's disgusting but it's made from cabbage and you get the extra bonus of probiotics. It really does help ulcers heal.

    The first study used a quart of raw, juiced cabbage that was spread throughout each day. Other studies used lower amounts, but at least a cup (8 fluid ounces) was always used.

    There is much good information here. Can you please tell me if drinking cabbage juice will be equally beneficial for the oesophagus?

    Also can cabbage juice be purchased and is it equally effective? On the other hand why not take a capsule of L-Glutamine (the active ingredient in cabbage) and pour the powder from the capsule and drink or take a few sips of this throughout he day?

    I will tell you why taking l-glutamine capsules.

    On first days these could be benefical (taking the l-glutamine capsules or powder) but as I start to see many people get addicted to pills or capsules and then they think they should eat them during many time. This is wrong because these should be taken when your internal chemical balance is unbalanced leading to a condition or disease.

    In the case of l-glutamine I can conclude that taking it during many time can cause it to be transformed to MSG and produce excitotoxins that´s why is a conditionally essential amino acid.

    hi sarah.is pureeing cabbage okay too?i dont have a juicer so what i do is i puree the whole cabbage in the morning and i strain it.i get maybe 16 oz.of juice out ot it.and i drink it through out the day.i dont know if is too much...please give me some advice..thank you.

    I think I am going to try this. I have had a ulcer on a incision line for 7 years now and I am tired of having to take medecation for it and of the pain when I accidentally miss a dose. I have run out od any other ideas and other natural things like aloe have not worked

    3 8 0z glasses a day fresh squeezed from a juicer for 10 days. Cured my 8 ulcers in both my esophagus and stomach. 5 years later they have not returned and I rarely if ever get the flu or a cold and I never get nauseous or suffer any other symptoms I previously had.

    hello great article .what about helicobacter pylori????could a combination protocol be done ??cabbage juice for the ulcer and propolis to lower down the pylori count number to normal. God bless you for preaching health .keep up the good work .thanks

    I moved to Europe 4 years ago and the transition was so stressful on me and my family that I developed an ulcer. I didn't go to the doctor but I had all the symptoms. I drank juice from red cabbage every day for a week and I was cured and it's not returned. I don't have a juicer so I would blend the cabbage in a food processor then run water through it in a melita coffee system and store in a pitcher in the fridge and forced myself to drink throughout the day. It was disgusting but it worked and the pain went away.

    I think antacids cause ulcers. One day I was feeling sick at work and didn't want to eat, and a coworker offered me one of her antacids. I never take antacids, but I decided to try it. Not only did it fail to help me feel better, it caused me to have long-lasting heartburn and severe pain in my stomach. Anyone else would have said, 'Whoa! My stomach hurts! I need more antacids!' and they would have taken more antacids till the end of eternity, never knowing antacids were causing the pain in the stomach.

    I have had stomach ulcers, H-Pylori infection in the past due to irregular eating habits (skipping breakfasts, eating spicy food etc). I was treated each of those times and not sure I was fully cured or not. Of late, I feel a bit of irritation when I eat in hot food.I read the paper Sarah refers to and I am going to try this.

    Day 1
    Large cabbage from Farmers market
    about 500 gms makes 0.5 L of juice. I did throw in 4 baby carrots.
    It bites a bit - but ok to drink for me.
    Plan to drink a Litre a day.
    I will post a daily diary here.

    Vijay, checking in on your cabbage juicing.

    I started the day after you for hopefully healing very bad gastritis. In pain most of the day and few foods are tolerated and I cannot tolerate PPI's so I thought I would give this a try.

    Are you doing Red or Green Cabbage?
    Drinking it right away or each time you make it?

    I also threw in a carrot, celery and an apple or pear and it goes down very well.

    Keep me posted on your results and I will do the same.
