This is a really educational feature thank you Thomas, and a wake up call for our society.

Clearly our quality of life is in our hands, and we would do well to adopt some aspects of the Amish lifestyle to enjoy better health

Most doctors disgust me, but I can understand that they have been manipulated. I fail to understand why they to no do their math. Just a little look into history, autism & cancer, says so much.

It's not normal for so many human beings to be sick. As my child asks, ''Mommy, why do we rarely see sick animals?''

The sickest animals are the ones living with human beings.

Never saw a bird laying on the side of a road and dying from cancer.

Cancer was rare before vaccines came along. Gas also came along not much after and researchers could see that when diesel was introduced into a country, cancer rates would rise. But, the gov just said these people must have been paid by tobacco companies. Which is possible, but we can still see lower cancer rates in small towns away from big city pollution, like the Eskimos.

I make it a habit to stay as far away from doctors as I can.

Doctors don't do the math, because they are not allowed to. Any doctor who steps too far out of line, will find himself with a revoked medical license. So, not being a "team player" means losing that 12 years of medical school, and never having any hope of getting out of debt. They truly are slaves to the system, even in those cases when they don't consciously realize it. Things are this way by design. It's the policy-making people at the top who are truly evil: they really are. Most doctors couldn't live with themselves if they honestly appraised what they did to people on a regular basis, so they must build walls of denial. They have to keep reminding themselves that they are doing good, or they would break. I'd feel sorry for these people too, if they didn't tend to be so arrogant.

I grew up in an area surrounded with Amish communities. It is very true that they are a healthy people. Also a very compassionate people who are quick to help their non-Amish neighbors. (Oh, for a return to morals and brotherhood like theirs) An open look at their ways can teach us much about health that is applicable even in our 'modern' world.

I am an alternative doc and while I wanted to believe this article let me steer readers to the following article. For the most part, I do not agree with most vaccinations and definitely do not agree to the current delivery method of giving multiple vaccines to very young children. Apparently the Amish do vaccinate and over all do have less idiopathic autism - the reasons for this are most likely something other than vaccination. The reporter did her homework.

We reviewed that article and many more. However, as many of the article commentators have already pointed out, the numbers for their statical proof just do not add up, and are not verifiable by 3rd parties. That's awfully convenient for winning the argument, isn't it? It's not the way we work, and it's not what we would ever call science: well maybe FDA-science.

Are we to accept the scientific evidence of those who apparently cannot do basic mathematics, or is it that they simply cannot be truthful? Your guess is as good as ours.

The Amish will continue to be a pawn in this very dirty and dishonest game. I hope God is with them, and so far it, looks like he is.

There's one last thing that you ought to mentally chew on. Lisa Jo Rudy (from About.com), who is your credible source, is depending on us to never find a cure, or otherwise she would be absent of a job. Her job is being an autism "expert", so she'd have to go back to McDonald's if we were to win (save the kids). It's the pattern overall. The people who have nothing to gain from lying to the public are the ones agreeing with us. We don't get a dime either way. We do seem to have gotten a better education, you know, with that whole math and science thing.

I grew up as a Mennonite and I can testify that the much natural and organic you live less health problems you have. I dont know what to do with law of the land you live in though, Bible tells us to obey the law of the land, if vaccination is mendatory you have to do it believing that God is in control.

My Bible says something a little different. Mine reports that a person can expect to be judged for his sins. This means that we have a personal responsibility for the sins that we commit, and that we're not allowed to simply blame our crimes onto others, such as the Government, family, or friends. If God were "in control" (controlling), then there would be no sins; but instead, he gave us the free will to commit sins, such as poisoning our own children, and putting words into his mouth. Perhaps such poisoned children will take the old school eye-for-an-eye part of the Bible to heart, and force-feed their parents pesticides when they are big enough.

Yes I heard this information before. The third child in question most probably was due to its mother who took Zoloft, Prozac or Paxil. This information was given to me by a Japanese doctor a few years ago when we found out our friend had a child that was autistic. The reason why the vaccine reports are showing shaky statistics when it comes to obtaining concrete evidence that children are becoming autistic as a result of vaccines is that a major quotient is being left out... the treatment of the mothers immune system. If the mother took Prozac for 14 years, then has a small baby, then jacks the baby up with 3 rounds of vaccines that are already too strong, then the child has a greater chance of becoming autistic.

I can tell you this much My step dad was a Dr worked with AIDs and HIV patients in the late 80s he was the one that told me there was a cure already but it AIDS made too much money....on top of which he would get kick backs from drug co. cold hard cash to write a script using their drug to give to his patients....corruption is everywhere we need to quit being sheeple....thank you for this wonderful article don't ever let any one bully you into taking this down the truth needs to be shown!

Thank you for the info. Basically, not a "smoking gun" -- but a "smoking needle". Obviously, the Amish prove that vaccines cause autism. What is actually disgusting is how you have profited from hurting the people who turned to you for help. Who is "the guy"? What prison is he in? Where exactly is that elusive proof? He made up a date? Was she inflatable? Lots of doctors say vaccines are bad, even at the risk of their professional careers. Here are some examples.

Any statement made so gratuitously can be equally gratuitously denied. This is totally unfounded ridiculous deception #2. I'll call these T.U.R.D. for short.

This is T.U.R.D. #3. Fish are not injected into the bloodstream of infants for one thing. For another, fish provides its own antidotes to its toxins, like most other natural foods do. For instance, in the case of fish, it naturally contains large amounts of selenium which neutralize the effects of heavy metals, allowing them to be flushed from the body. At the same time, the omega oils in the fish shield the body from absorption long enough for the metals to be expelled. Doesn't even "modern medicine" recolonize that now?

This is T.U.R.D. #4. Certain specific groups who had exposure to toxins had cancers in ancient history. Two good examples were the Egyptians and the Romans, both of which regularly consumed heavy metals. The epidemic that we know as cancer is indeed a new thing. Cancers were quite rare in ancient times, even amongst those groups who actually had it. It is 1 in 3 now, and growing (like autism). The ancient Jews did not have cancers because they followed God's kosher diet, which prevents cancer 100% of the time. Prior to the heavy metal poisoned Egyptians and Romans, cancer did not exist. I dare you to prove me wrong.

T.U.R.D. #5. Those "miracles" of "modern" medicine are saving us! Keep telling yourself that, and you may be able to live with yourself.

Actually "modern medicine" is the 3rd top killer in the United States by the A.M.A.'s own statistics due to "drug reactions" caused by properly prescribed drugs. I would love to see the complete number of deaths when this number is combined with actual mistakes and surgical deaths. People only live longer in the industrialized nations. This is because of improved hygiene, clean water distribution systems, and complex sanitary food distribution channels. Kindly take your vaccines and then relocate yourself to the famine regions of Africa if you doubt it.

T.U.R.D. #6. Prove that any vaccine saved a life. Give us just one name, and show us the evidence proving that a vaccine saved him. There is no evidence on your side. In fact, no vaccine was ever given long term, 3rd party, peer-reviewed, double-blind testing for safety and efficacy, because vaccines would fail the most basic requirements for other pharmaceuticals. The testing is done on the population, with regulatory approval for maximum deniability. The rates of illness tend to drop after vaccination campaigns only because the pharmaceutical companies wait to release their vaccines to the public after the epidemics are ending from their natural cycle, so that all of us will attribute the ending of the epidemics with the vaccine distributions. We documented this bait and switch tactic at the end of this article.

T.U.R.D. #7. Ever had Bubonic Plague? It ended because of its natural cycle, and as an effect of improved hygiene, just as was the case for small pox.

T.U.R.D. #8. We'll be holding our breaths in anticipation of this next "miracle". The extreme death rates of A.I.D.S. patients in the 80's and early 90's was due to the pharmaceuticals -- not the disease. A.I.D.S. isn't so dangerous without those "miracles". It isn't until a diagnosis (medical intervention) that the death rates for cancers, heart disease, A.I.D.S. (and etc.) skyrocket. Women with mammograms get lot's of "early detection", since the mammograms themselves expose the women to cancer causing radiation every year. Please stop giving us so many of these damn "miracles".

We've seen those statistics, and we'll bet either you haven't, or you just ignored them, so you could continue poisoning your patients with a clean conscience. Someday you'll answer to God for it.

"Lazy fatness"? That's right, blame the victims for what your chemical poisons did to them. That is so typical of your type. That white coat doesn't hide the blood on you, and you do not fool us. You are more guilty of poisoning them than the fast food restaurants. You are worse because you intentionally did it to the people who sought your help, whereas the restaurants do what they do as just a matter of streamlining business practices.

With your attitude and medical religion, I'll bet you are a model of ideal health yourself, which would be our envy. Do you take routine vaccinations yourself, or are you like the 50% of doctors who are too afraid?

Nevertheless, you finally wrote something that is partially true. Exercise is good, but so is the avoidance of poisons, regardless of whether their source be from foods or vaccines.

Why do people feel the need to be rude!!!!???? I regret having my children vaccinated, because to be honest do we really know what's actually in these vaccines? I believe alot of it is linked into population control!!!

What you don't tell everyone is that the three Amish children who got Autism were all vaccinated. Yes they were, check your facts and report the whole picture and not the fragment detracting into ALIENS whilst opening an article on Autism in the Amish community.

I am always amazed at the ignorance of the arguments in favor of vaccination. These people who dearly love their children, willingly drink the koolaid of the MSM because this or that, prominent Dr has promoted vaccination as safe and effective against childhood diseases.
I am a healthcare professional, but my voice is rarely heard due to the conditioning propaganda of the FDA and other governmental arms that sanction vaccination. It is absolutely insidious what is going on in our country! I too view it as bio-warfare aginst our children and future. I hope and pray people wake-up to the idea that our government and it's overreaching arm are no longer for us!

What is the acetaminophen link to autism? Aspirin had it's link to problems with some children with fever. Is it possible that the increase in use of acetaminophen is related to the increase in autism? Is it a synergystic component with the vaccines?

I have been on the fence about vaccines. Yes, the diseases they claim to prevent are quite frightening, but it would seem that the chances of getting polio, rubella or a brain infection is much less than 1 out of 90 something kids getting Autism. I have 2 small kids, both have received some. I was careful with the first to only give her one at a time and spaced out by at least a month or more. This article has settled the issue in my mind. Neither of my kids or future kids will be getting vaccines. They will, however, keep receiving healthy organic and homegrown food. I say to my friends and family, and to myself, do things because of facts and logic, not out of fear. When it comes to this topic both sides present an aspect of fear. However, the logic is not equally balanced on both sides. Your arguments are beautifully eloquent, logical and patient.

In New York, there is no official form like there is in most states. Rather, a letter is written declaring that vaccination is against the religious beliefs of the parents. The letter is then given to the school in place of an immunization card. Here is the New York Law:

"This section shall not apply to children whose parent, parents, or guardian hold genuine and sincere religious beliefs which are contrary to the practices herein required, and no certificate shall be required as a prerequisite to such children being admitted or received into school or attending school."

I found the article interesting. I have stopped vaccines after my Sister-in-law's kids were diagnosed with autism...yes! KidS. She had a 4 year old and twin girls that were 6 months at the time. The 4 year old was dianosed and soon after one of the 2 twins was diagnosed. That is 2 out of 3. I truley believe that the vaccination did this. I believe that everyone's body responds differently to their exposure to the environment. That is why it shows up in some and not others. Just like some are more apt to get cancer. Their bodies are failing to get rid of the toxins. If we could get this world back to it's pure form, you will find all disease decline and or disappear. If you believe in the creation and early biblical accounts and look into the science (that mainstream science will not talk about), you will find that before the flood our oxygen was 30% pure oxygen. It was like living in a chamber. That is why the bible says we lived to 800-900 years old. The more pure organic and less toxic life we live the longer we will live. Unfortantly we will never know the real harm (illness and death) that vaccination causes. Why? Because the doctors do not report the cause of illness/death, leaving out the fact that a child had a vaccination prior to the illness/death. Even if they did, I am sure the CDC would not report it.

My Naturopathic Doctor went to Med Science and started on the Homeopathic path to medical treatment, because "all they could tell me is to treat the symptoms, NOT what is causing it". We cause it with the vaccinations, food toxins... Why do people wear masks and protective wear when spraying our food, but we are supposted to be OK with ingesting what they spray by eating it? I was wondering why the stools of the Amish children were tested in the first place? Seems like an unusual thing to do.. I am assuming they must have been showing some type of symptoms that would require a doctor/hospital visit?

I find the diet factor very interesting as I have been reading "Nourishing Traditions" and about some of Dr. Weston Price's research involving traditional/primitive societies. Basically, he found that people are healthy until they begin eating a western diet. Nearly all the healthy societies ate organ meats and dairy, and they prized animal fats, as well as eating raw foods. Just wondering if the Amish diet would back up Dr. Price's theories.

Oh, if only my state wasn't so backwards. West virginia not only does not allow religious or philosophical exemptions, medical exemptions are routinely denied. Children who have severe allergic reactions or renal failure (some of my friends' children) are said to not get "sick enough" to warrant a medical exemption for school. So, we should homeschool, right? Nope. WV has criminalized non-vaccination. It is a to be on WV soil and not be 100% vaccinated. Right now, hundreds of children have been kicked out of school for not getting newly (and illegally added) boosters before school started. Parents are being threatened with JAIL TIME for not sending their children who WANT to go to school. Police are escorting these kids off campuses. Parents are being threatened with CPS calls for medical neglect and being threatened with guardian ad litum where a lawyer would make medical decisions for the children and they would be force vaccinated. Well, I'm suffering from neurological disease brought on by vaccines and dental amalgams and I'm not having kids. Our environment is too toxic for people missing the MTHFR gene. If I did have kids, you better believe they wouldn't be vaccinated.

If you are a woman with an autoimmune illness, you should have all dental amalgams safely removed and chelate using frequent-dose low oral chelation for at least two years before having children. It's only right to not pass on your mercury burden to them.
