GlaxoSmithKline has been under fire recently because its diabetes drug, Avandia, causes heart attacks. That's just another minor complication that patients were never warned about. It is a particularly disturbing situation, since those who have diabetes are already at an increased risk of heart failure. We have written about Avandia previously, but we were under the impression that it was about to be removed from the market. We over-estimated the Food and Drug Administration. The F.D.A. reevaluated the drug, which caused Glaxo's stocks to drop at the prospect of a massive fine. It was predicted by some analysts that the F.D.A. would finally drop the hammer on GlaxoSmithKline, and penalize it by $6 billion. This amount is two-thirds of their annual profit ($8 billion).
"Since a low point on Wednesday afternoon before the F.D.A. vote, GlaxoSmithKline stock has risen nearly 5 percent."

Reuters has surprisingly reported some scientific findings that are not usually released to the public. These findings demonstrate a consistent correlation between childhood exposure to medical radiation and cancer drugs with having extremely high premature death rates.
A recent study by Birmingham University (England) concluded that those who have cancers as children, and manage to survive treatments, have extremely high chances of premature deaths. After monitoring 18,000 childhood cancer survivors, the university documented that these people tended to die early from a range of ailments including heart attacks, strokes, and of course, new cancers. Premature deaths were 11 times more likely than for the general population.

People in the United States, and all over the world have created an "eating disorder", which is routinely portrayed by the Food Network as entertainment (Knoblauch, 2008). Cultures all over the world have placed so much importance on food that it is no longer the way to stay healthy, fuel our bodies, and live: it has become a status symbol.
Why Women Pay Dearly for Cesarean Sections for the Rest of Their Lives

The Internet is flooded with women who desperately attempt to lose weight following childbirth. The worst cases involve women who experienced cesarean sections. Most women are able to lose the majority of their pregnancy weight, except for the last 20 pounds. However, there are less fortunate women who retain almost all of it, and practically all of these women have had cesarean sections. This is due largely because of the muscles (and sometimes nerves) which were cut during surgery.
The butchery involved can make it impossible for a woman to return to her previous figure. Women who have C-sections never receive warnings about this from their doctors. In fact, these surgeries are usually presented as being safer, and with fewer complications than vaginal births.
How Doctors Cut Short Phil Collins Musical Career, and Why He Shall Never Drum Again

Young people need heroes, and today's young generation sadly lacks them. One of my heroes from the 1980's was Phil Collins. I admired Collins not just for his musical gifts, but also because he was a member of the rock and roll elites who managed to hold onto his soul. Even in the 1980's, this was no small feat for a successful musician. Phil was on par with the best of the best, and yet he did it without becoming a drug addict, was never into Satanic stuff, and he never gyrated on the stage half-clothed. I know of no other successful entertainer of equal talent with comparable character. These things made him a giant amongst his peers.
Parole Boards Requiring That Parolees Take Violence-Inducing, Mind-Altering Pharmaceuticals

We have received a copy of a letter from an outraged inmate who will be forced to consume psychotropic drugs upon his release from prison. This letter came from the Pennsylvania Parole Board, who told this man that he must accept mind-altering S.S.R.I. drugs as a condition of his release. The dangers of these drugs are well-known in prison, because a large portion of prisoners are placed on them during their incarcerations. These drugs are intended to keep prisoners obedient via chemical straight jackets, for the convenience of prison guards. However, these psychogenic drugs also cause some inmates to experience hallucinations, lose control, and become brutally violent. Occasionally, an inmate's outburst will be recognized as a psychotropic drug reaction, but random acts of violence are not usually blamed on the drugs, despite what is known about them.
"You shall take psychotropic medication if prescribed by your doctor."
In better times, this policy would have clearly constituted a cruel and unusual punishment; because forcing someone to take drugs which have a high likelihood of leading to violence or otherwise losing one's judgment is nothing short of evil. There is a great cruel irony in the forced drugging of convicts, who were imprisoned either because of the so-called "War on Drugs", or because drugs made them do things that got them into trouble.
A Dangerous Pharmaceutical Espoused as Alternative Medicine: Dichloroacetic Acid (DCA)

DCA is called dichloroacetic acid, dichloroacetate, and dichloroethanoic acid by chemists. It is essentially chlorine that is mixed with oxygen and acetic acid. This poisonous chlorine compound has been found in the tap water of some municipalities, which is something that even the World Health Organization has expressed alarm about. This toxic contamination occurs because bleaching agents are used to disinfect our drinking water. Oxygen would disinfect water better (e.g. hydrogen peroxide), and it would actually produce health benefits.

A reader recently contacted us, requesting that we watch two videos and provide our opinions about them. The issue is too complex for us to simply agree or disagree, so we're going to tackle the issues presented in the video, one at a time.
First of all, it is obvious that English is not Tullio Simoncini's primary language, so he may not be making his points as well as he would like to. There are several points in the video where we had to guess what he meant, due to language issues.

"I just wanted to thank you for all your hard work and dedication to trying to educate others on topics that seem to be hush-hush. I am a 25 year old mother of a 2 1/2 year old daughter. My husband was in the Army (thus of course vaccinated) and I was fully vaccinated as a child.
"When I was pregnant with my daughter, we researched natural childbirth and decided on the Bradley Method. We decided to have a home birth, chose a home birth midwife, but still saw a OBGYN. Big mistake. I was found to have GD, then was "required" to take NST twice a week and they wanted to put me on insulin. After much research and 1 horrible NST I was done. I refused insulin (my GD was controlled by diet they were just afraid my numbers would get worse), refused to do any more NST, refused to let them induce me at 38 weeks (cause they were afraid my baby would be too big) and was subsequently dropped as a patient at 35 weeks pregnant.
The Marvelous Health of Unvaccinated Children

Once upon a time, in April 2009 to be exact, I was invited to give a speech at a conference on vaccination. I was to talk after two of the best speakers France has to offer on the subject, journalist Sylvie Simon and biologist Michel Georget. At hearing them speak in the past, it was absolutely clear to me that the best option is to stay as far away from vaccines as possible. I just did not know what to do instead, to best assure staying alive and well. As a paediatrician and homeopath qualified to speak on the subject, I decided to setup a conference called "The Marvelous Health of Unvaccinated Children", along with my friends, Sylvie and Michel. This work would later evolve into a book that analyses various life choices often made by families that do not vaccinate, including home birth, breastfeeding, simple therapies, good food, a tranquil living environment and trust in the capacity of the body to heal itself.
